The 5th Annual Conference of the NECLTA-International Conference on Learning and Teaching Chinese Language and Culture

Conference theme: “Teaching Chinese in the 21st Century”


NECLTA (The New England Chinese Language Teachers' Association) is calling for proposals for presentations at its 5th annual conference. The conference will be hosted by the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Massachusetts) on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016.

We welcome proposals from K-12 and Chinese schools teachers, college and university educators in Chinese, graduate students, and national and international scholars and educational administrators. Presentations may address any aspect of issues in teaching and learning Chinese language and culture at various levels in different settings, including but not limited to: (1) classroom teaching practice (2) technology application in Chinese teaching (3) teaching Chinese at K-12 schools (4) teaching Chinese in immersion programs (5) teaching heritage students (6) Chinese Flagship programs [7] Chinese language acquisition (8) Chinese linguistics and Chinese pedagogical grammar (9) teaching culture (10) study abroad (11) CFL teacher training, and (12) planning and administering Chinese programs in the 21st Century.  

Proposals should be submitted online at by the revised deadline of September 25, 2016. Notification of acceptance decisions will be sent out through email by October 5, 2016.
